Kristin Fisher joined CNN in July 2021, as the station's Space and Defense Correspondent. In her new position she is responsible for covering everything from NASA and the recently created Space Force, to commercial space companies and the advent of space tourism. Kristin was her mother was one of NASA astronauts as well as a space enthusiast, grew up immersed within the space industry. She worked for five years in the position of White House correspondent for FOX News covering space policy under the Biden and Trump Administrations. While there, she also reported on two impeachment proceedings for President Trump as well as the 2020 presidential campaign, as well as two administration's attempts to control the pandemic of coronavirus. Her extensive travels with the Vice President and the President included a trip exclusive to Afghanistan, which she took along with Donald Trump. Before becoming a part of the company in 2015, Kristin spent nearly a 10 years working her way up through the local news channels including Grand Junction, Colorado; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Washington, D.C. where she was awarded one Emmy Award as a one-man-band reporter for the city's CBS affiliate. With her experience in front of the camera Kristin created Field Mouse Films in 2014, which specialized in making documentary-style films for corporate clients including Uber and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin received her Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from Boston University. Her husband and three year-old daughter live in Washington, D.C.
